Rieti, 10 December 2019: no formal training, but informal coaching during the first patient prescription and the first dispensing shifts. After just ten minutes of training, the doctor in charge of the Department of Medical Oncology at San Camillo De Lellis Hospital used the P4C component to prescribe therapy to all her patients without Dedalus support.
The clinical staff soon wanted to share their impressions with us:
“Changing drips is no longer a problem! I don’t have to remember when to do it because the system alerts me!” “Ah, it takes just two clicks to administer medication!”
“I can identify very clearly what I have to do on my shift and see, today, what I’ll have to do tomorrow”
“Very convenient, easy to change dispensing times”
“It’s simple, there are no problems”
“Both the medication notes and the Decision Support System for controlling drug interactions are very useful”
“Simple, fast, effective”
“Finally, a clear schematisation for anticoagulant therapy”
“When can you install it from me too?” (Head of another department)
Since the end of November 2019, doctors and nurses at the E. Muscatello ASP hospital in Syracuse have been using P4C Therapy. Having planned a three-week rollout, the target was reached in 4 days.
Some figures to date …
Departments: Cardiology, UTIC, Neurology and Internal Medicine
Number of prescriptions: 1275
Number of doses administered: 6742
… and the comments of the nursing clinical staff involved …
“This treatment is much easier than before.”
“It allows us to complete the patient ward tour in no time!”
… “Ah, we can finally administer insulin easily.”
… “Prescribing an infusion is no longer a problem.”
Once again, P4C demonstrates its value in terms of functional design, comprehensiveness, availability of information, ease of use, corresponding to the expectations of professionals in complex procedures such as treatments management.
